One of the premiere departments at UNCW, Film Studies combines critical studies with production, and, in Fall 2020, launched collaborative MA/MFA programs. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in film studies awarded prior to August 2022 and who successfully demonstrate potential for excellent teaching and scholarly productivity and a commitment to the department’s mission to integrate the study and production of cinema. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their areas of specialty, as well as the department’s core courses in film aesthetics and world cinema.
